Switchcraft® is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast and pro audio. We are conveniently located on the northwest side of Chicago and currently have an opening for an Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for all aspects of accounts payable. Duties include verification and reconciliation of vouchers, invoices, and expense reports, prioritizing prioritizes payments by preparing ACH batches, wire transfer documentation, and check runs.

The accounting Assistant is responsible for resolving issues between accounting and suppliers and responds to vendor inquires by researching and correcting discrepancies.

Duties also include accurate coding of MRO purchases and maintaining logs and documents.

The Accounting Assistant prepares various journal entries at month end and completing and distributing Forms 1096 an 1099 annually. Production Planner

We are looking for an entry level Planner to join our Inventory Control team at our Chicago manufacturing facility. With over 8000 finished products and over 25,000 components used annually, this position requires a dynamic individual with a talent for organizing information and coordinating production schedules.

• Learn and operate a Microsoft Dynamics NAV enterprise planning system
• Plan the supply of components and finished goods to meet forecasted and sales demand
• Work closely with production departments to carry out the supply plan
• Recognize production limitations and constraints and adjust plans accordingly
• Participate in physical inventory taking annually
• Respond to MRP system planning suggestions daily
• Work with sales department to schedule and commit ship dates for finished goods
• Work with purchasing department to organize supply of components
.Review demand annually and adjust forecast and planning parameters accordingly
• High school graduation or GED or equivalent required
• Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Previous experience in a production-related environment preferred
• Knowledge of ERP or similar planning system preferred
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
• English language skills required
• Ability to work on computer systems for long periods

Facilities Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the building and machine maintenance at our 190,000 square foot Chicago location. The 24/7 facility houses stamping, molding, machining, and assembly operations. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for safety/security, building maintenance, HVAC, janitorial, and machine maintenance while supervising a department of six maintenance employees.
• Maintain the physical plant to comply with all local and national safety and fire codes.
• Monitor, maintain and test fire sprinkler systems throughout the plant.
• Select, purchase, install and maintain infrastructure to support 24/7 production operations, including HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, city water, gas and electric utilities
• Interact with local emergency management organizations to plan and execute safety drills, arrange safe storage areas, and otherwise comply with building requirements.
• Participate in teams to reduce energy usage and water consumption.
• Submit purchase requisitions for all materials needed to maintain uptime goals in production.
• Supervise a team of maintenance mechanics to support production goals.
• Participate in teams to rearrange and activate new work cell layouts in the factory.
• Oversee the security system for employees, vehicles, parking areas, and building.
• Arrange and oversee external maintenance services, such as landscaping, snow removal, roofing, painting, brickwork, electrical, etc.
1. High school graduation or GED or equivalent required
2. Ability to read and interpret building drawings is required
3. 5 years minimum of equipment maintenance experience in a factory setting required
4. Experience as a maintenance manager or facilities manager preferred
5. Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred
6. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
7. English language skills required
8. Knowledge of HVAC, boiler maintenance, and fire suppression systems preferred
9. Knowledge of programming various PLC’s through HMI’s is preferred
10. Previous experience in electrical work preferred

Assistant Supervisor

Conxall, located in Villa Park, Illinois, is a manufacturer of custom designed connectors and cable assemblies. We supply highly engineered harsh environment cable assembly products to the industrial, agricultural, lighting, safety, outdoor recreation, and medical industries. We are currently looking for a Assistant Supervisor who would be responsible for the production, quality, and technical integrity of overmolded cable assemblies built in a work cell.
The Assistant Supervisor will monitor, guide, train, and coach up to 20 production line workers assigned to a work cell. Responsibilities include the set-up of fixtures and tabletop equipment necessary to make a diverse array of parts, checking all set-up dimensions per specification and filling out quality documentation during the shift. The Assistant Supervisor will work with the Quality and Industrial Engineering Departments to identify problems, provide feedback on design issues and respond rapidly to customer complaints. Duties also include assisting in the creation of accurate, understandable work instructions and drawings and working with other departments to produce prototype and sample parts. In addition, Assistant Supervisor documents all activities including scrap and re-work transactions in the tracking system. Interest in technical aspects of manufacturing required.
